Sony Xperia Z4 News!

Sony Xperia Z4

Sony Xperia Z4

The Xperia Z3 is one of the best Android phones money can buy - a tightly -designed silken wonder, with a superb camera and long lasting battery. We love it, and the prospect of Xperia Z4 looming on the horizon has us positively giddy.

The most noteworthy differences from the Xperia Z3 are the lack of a microSD slot, and no cover for the microUSB port - suggesting the Z4 is either dropping waterproofing, or taking it to the next level by not requiring a flap.
Color, button placement, and interface are virtually unchanged, but you might notice that the camera and proximity sensor have swapped sides.
Also of note, the speaker has moved to the top edge, and is wider than on the Z3; maybe the rumors of Sony BoomSound-like speakers are true after all?

Performance, Display & Memory

The Z4 has a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 810, 4 GB RAM, and 32 GB as the base model for internal storage. The Snapdragon 810 is probably accurate, but based on what we've found out since, we think that a 5.5-inch QHD display looks unlikely.
It's safe to assume that Android Lollipop will be running on any flagship device released this year, and according to latest benchmarks it looks like the Z4 will be running Android v5.0.2 (Lollipop).

Sony has announced its new smartphone camera sensor, the Exmor RS IMX230 - claiming to be the industry's first "Stacked CMOS Image Sensor with an Image Plane Phase Detection Signal Processing Function for High-Speed AF".
The new 21 MP sensor is said to bring better performance in HDR mode, and also a higher level of detail in HD videos. Capable of recording 30 FPS with 4K resolution (4096 x 2160), the stacked CMOS image sensor will capture videos much like it would take a normal photo.

These may not be the final specs.. We gotta see what sony will do! We would love to hear your opinions about the Sony Xperia Z4! See you in the discussion section!
