Micromax launches a new smartphone Canvas Play!

Micromax Canvas Play

Recently, the Micromax Canvas Play (Q355) was listed in Micromax website and now it is available for purchase through a third-party online retailer quoted at Rs.7,490.

The Micromax Canvas Play is a dual-SIM smartphone running on Android v5.0 (Lollipop) out-of-the-box!

Processor & Memory

The Canvas Play is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582M) processor bundled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

Display & Camera

The smartphone houses a 5.5-inch (480x854 pixels) FWVGA display.  It sports a 5MP fixed-focus primary camera with an LED flash and secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Battery & Connectivity

The Canvas Play is backed by a 2820mAh battery, which is expected to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 273 hours of standby time. It offers some common connectivity features like 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth.

Preloaded Apps

The Micromax Canvas Play has got some preloaded apps like Askme, Chaatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, M! Games, M! live, News Hunt, PayTM, Quikr, and Snapdeal, among others. The smartphone is also available in eBay India.

Our Verdict!

The Micromax Canvas Play (Q355) has some good specs but it is not worth for the price quoted. It has got a poor camera as it doesn't even sport auto-focus. Micromax recently launched Canvas Spark which is way cheap and better than the Canvas Play! It will definitely face a very tough competition with phones like Lenovo A6000 Plus & A7000.

We would love to hear your opinions about the Micromax Canvas Play! See you in the discussion section!
