Android to roll out a smart lock feature soon

Android Smart Lock Feature

Android Smart lock feature coming soon...

Google is currently testing a smart lock feature which uses the accelerometer in your phone to sense when you put a phone down and lock itself. According to sources this is feature is going to be called the on-body detection. Currently it is being speculated on various places on the internet as a security feature to deter thieves but it doesn't seem like one to us.

There are lots of doubts about how exactly the phone will know who is picking it up, more over it might make it easier for the thief to unlock the phone as he won't have to type in a pin or a pattern and simply pick the damn thing up!

So, from the current information in our hands all we can say is that this is a simple but efficient functionality for people who dont have a password protected screen lock.
